A view of London within the natural
world created by a nineteenth century park, sky and distant hills.
Wind, clouds and sunlight create natural change. The air moves in
different ways at different altitudes. Shapes and textures echo
between sky and land.
The Great Aviary is next to
Regent's Park Canal. Pigeons fly away to the left. Beneath high
contrails a low flying jet runs into Heathrow, above a
telecommunications tower, tall buildings, cranes and church spires.
Man and nature mix. People sit on the grass, in and out of the Sun,
some self absorbed, others enjoying where they are - in nature and
in the city.
A special, subrural view from
Primrose Hill loved for hundreds of years by Londoners and visitors
alike.
Inspired by a view of London from Greenwich by JMW
Turner (1809) now in Tate Britain.
